Wings Gaming are your new ESL One Champions on collectionfifatips

Wings take their first ever LAN victory by destroying Team Liquid 3-0.

Wings Gaming have been playing together for about a year now and haven’t won anything till now. This is also their second LAN ever, with the previous being WCA, where their achievement was getting a win against Team Secret.

I don’t think we’ll be afraid of any teams

The organisation started in 2014 and their current Dota 2 squad was formed after the TI5 reshuffle and has been together ever since. Their team chemistry is great and their style favors early game agression and pushing. You can find out more about them in the interview GosuGamers did with them a week before the ESL One Manila kicked off.

Game one started well for Wings, with them getting first blood and later trading the Batrider for two bot, while the Bounty Hunter got the courier mid. From then on things slowly but surely fell apart for Team Liquid. Wings dominated the early game and slowed down to get some extra farm on the Phantom Lancer. Liquid used this alongside a lucky pickoff on the Bounty Hunter to take a quick Rosh in an attempt to get back into the game. The Aegis went to Adrian ‘Fata’ Trinks, who traded his two lives to create enough space for Kuro ‘KuroKy’ Salehi Takhasomi to get a kill on Shadow’s PL. This set Wings back even more on their farm, slowing down the game even further. Liquid pressured the bot T3 and got it, but at the cost of their own top T3 and Melee Rax, including giving some kills to Wings on their way out.

Next Rosh was the key to this match. Liquid attempted to get it twice, with the second time ending in disaster with wings getting three kills and the Aegis for PL. With all that advantage they pressured and took bot T3 along with Melee Rax and the slow siege mid started. With Bounty Hunter’s vision and the tactics of sending PL illusions, coupled with a Mana Leak from KotL, Enigma didn’t have the mana or opportunity to initiate. After the T3 dropped, it was time for a desperate move. Jesse ‘JerAx’ Vainikka aggressive swap started the last fight of the game. Both teams lost heroes and Wings saw that they could end the game, so they bought back on PL, KotL, and Batrider. With Black Hole used to get the PL, Liquid was running out of damage. Enigma died back, Fata dropped, and Liquid called the GG for game one.

Game began a lot better for Liquid with PL evading jungle invasion and JerAx successfully rotating top to get the first blood on Beastmaster. The Earth Spirit rotations weren’t as fruitful as the first one, but after saving Tidehunter bot, Liquid got a kill on Slark, while the bear and Enigma dropped in the jungle. Both PL and Lone Druid were on top with farm, but Wings had the early game lead. Tidehunter dropped bot, but bought enough time for Enigma to rotate for the counter kill. Kuro narrowly missed the first Black Hole of the game and Slark survived by the skin of his teeth.

Wings pushed their advantage by taking the T1 top and forcing rotations for the T2. A fight broke out mid, with Liquid getting a pickoff and using Enigma as bait for Wings to overcommit. The Ravage came out and Wings was on the run, losing three, but a good Sun Strike claimed the Lone Druid, making it an even trade. With the Ravage down, Wings pressed for T3 top, keeping mid pushed by getting both towers. Liquid slowed the game down, waiting for mistakes and capitalizing on them when they happened, forcing a buyback from Wings to secure Rosh. After pressuring mid and top, Liquid found the opening they needed. Shadow burned all of his mana, forcing him to use his Aegis, but the Black Hole was waiting for him. It was interrupted by a fissure, but Wings was already in a really bad position, resulting in a triple kill for the Phantom Lancer. Wings was relentless though; they kept on pushing and throwing heroes at the mid Rax till it went down at 33 minute, leaving the score 25 to 19 in their favor.

Wings lost their Shaker, but didn’t stop their push, overcommitting on the Tidehunter only to get a Ravage just as the Invoker BKB ran out. This let Liquid take a four kills and forced the buyback on Invoker so that Wings could at least secure the next Rosh. Liquid pushed T2 bot, but ended up in a bad fight mid, expending the ravage and the Black Hole, but only taking Slark down. Shortly after the bot lane was gone and even the Refresher on Tidehunter wasn’t enough to hold back the last push so Liquid called GG for game two.

Game three started with a bloodbath at the bot rune resulting in 1-3 score for Wings before the first minute of the game, with first blood going to Team Liquid. It continued in the same fashion with kills going bot and mid. Wings took a lot, but then gave up three kills mid, bringing the score to 7-6 at 5 minutes for Liquid. They took charge and ramped up the aggression, rotating the Doom and using Specter’s ultimate, solidifying their dominance in the early game. Liquid used their ults one after the other, getting kill after kill with a score of 24-13 at 23 minutes. They finally make a mistake after diving T3 bot to kill Tusk, and drop three on the way out. They lost the gem, and their T2 mid, giving a lot of gold to Wings. Despite the commotion, Alchemist was still on top of the farm chart with two times more net worth than the second place Outworld Devourer.

Next big fight also went the way of Wings as they killed three and got Rosh, along with a ton of track gold. With that advantage, Wings decided it was time for all in. They fought Liquid in front of their base, then dove in all the way to the ancient getting four kills with only Matumbaman surviving. Wings wasn’t done, managing to regroup and get three kills. This time they focused on getting some objectives – both bot and mid.

Last push began top with a big fight ending badly for Liquid. They lost top rax too, but they wouldn’t give up. With buybacks and their base on the line the fight went on and on, but in the end it wasn’t enough. Liquid called the GG and Wings Gaming took ESL One Manila Grand Finals 3-0.

collectionfifatips – Welcome to the Manila Madness Hub; round the clock coverage of the Manila Major Qualifiers

Beyond The Summit have teamed up with a range of global Dota 2 heavyweights to deliver around the clock, global coverage of the Manila Major Open and Regional Qualifiers.

While everyone is just recovering from the explosive performances seen at ESL One Manila, Beyond The Summit have announced the Manila Major Madness Hub. The Hub is designed to give you, the Dota community, uninterrupted coverage of the global phenomenon that is the Manila Major Qualifiers.

Beyond The Summit will be running round-the-clock coverage of the event with a dedicated live-stream to each of the four major regions. In addition to this, as part of the Manila Madness Hub, Beyond The Summit will be running a specially curated multi-cast stream which will provide regular updates and coverage of the action on the four primary streams so that you won’t miss anything. The Multi-Cast will be hosted by a range of talent including Dakota ‘KotLGuy’ Cox, Jorien ‘Sheever’ Can Der Heijden, Jake ‘SirActionSlacks’Kanner, and Alan ‘Nahaz’ Bester.

Open qualifiers for the Major start April 29th and will run until May 2nd. The qualifiers will run with 64 teams from each major region competing in brackets of 32 in a single elimination, best-of-one format up to the semi-finals. The semi-finals and finals will be played in a best of three format and the two top teams from each region will advance to the main Regional Qualifier for their respective regions.

The Regional Qualifiers will then be run in a different format. Two groups of five will be created from each region who will compete in a best-of-two, round-robin format (meaning every team in the group plays every other team). For those who are unaware, the scoring system for this format is as follows;

2 points for a 2-0 win.
1 point each for a 1-1 draw.
0 points for a 2-0 loss.

At the end of the round, the points are tallied and the top two teams from each group move on to the playoffs. The playoffs are then played in a four-team, best-of-three, double elimination bracket. The top two teams from this bracket both qualify for the Major. No seeding is awarded based on performance at the Regional Qualifiers; all teams will enter 4×4 group stages at the Major on equal footings.

For anything else E-sports and Manila Major, make sure you keep a tab locked to GosuGamers.

collectionfifatips | The Dota 2 evolves again with the 6.87 patch

The new patch notes have been released and they bring huge changes to the Dota 2 mechanics.

A plethora of new items, adjustments to the terrain and a bunch of hero reworks will make the hastily approaching qualifiers for the Manila Major a nightmare to all the participants.

Promised to hit the live version in a day or two, the new 6.87 comes just in time for the Manila Major Qualifiers which are scheduled to commence on April 29th. Considering the amount of changes that the 6.87 patch brings, players, casters and fans alike will have only three days to adjust.

The patch brings a reworked All Pick for the ranked mode by introducing a 15 seconds ban phase where each player will vote for a different hero. Afterwards, half of the heroes that were voted on will be randomly selected and banned. But this is the feature that will impact the competitive scene the least. Scan ability has been introduced to each team and it will be available on the minimap UI.

Scan:

  • Scans a targeted 900 AoE for 8 seconds. Indicates whether there are enemy heroes in that area during the 8 seconds.
  • Starts on cooldown and has a global team-wide cooldown of 4.5 minutes
  • Does not consider units inside the Roshan Pit, but does consider Smoked units. Does not show how many heroes there are, just if there are any enemies. Enemies do not know when your team casts it.

From the general updates tab worth mentioning are the new armor aura granted to allied heroes by towers, reworked HP, strength and intelligence for heroes, the removal of the initial experience from the starting bounty rune, Captains Mode pick time and bonus time modified and finally an adjusted order for picks in the final phase.  Also, Captain’s Mode welcomes back Riki.

Moving to the newly introduced items, there are seven of them starting with the 7,195 gold Bloodthorn to a few extremely interesting starting items and a new consumable.

Tome of Knowledge:

  • Costs: 150 gold
  • Use: Grants you 425 experience.
  • Starts out of stock, increments stock every 10 minutes

Five heroes have received shiny Ahagnim’s Scepters all with powerful abilities attached to the item but most importantly Storm Spirit might be back in the new meta.

Storm Spirit:

  • Causes Electric Vortex to be a 475 AoE ability around your hero.
  • Requires vision over the units to affect them.

From the heroes that already had the Scepter option Earthshaker and Gyrocopter’s ultimates have been reworked:

Earthshaker:

  • Enchant Totem becomes a 900 range ground target ability. Causes you to jump in the air and land at the target spot, casting enchant totem there. Self casting the ability will make it behave in the original form, without jumping.

Gyrocopter:

  • Adds a Side Gunner, fires an attack automatically at random enemy units within 600 AoE every 1.4 seconds. Same firing rules as Rocket Barrage, but does not attack while invisible and is disabled by Break.

The full patch notes can be found here.

collectionfifatips – Funes Mori escapes Everton punishment

The Argentina international was dismissed in the second half of the Toffees’ 4-0 loss to Liverpool in midweek after injuring Divock Origi in a reckless challenge

Everton manager  Roberto Martinez says Ramiro Funes Mori has not been disciplined internally after his sending off against Liverpool .

Funes Mori saw red for a reckless tackle which meant Divock Origi needed to be stretchered off in Wednesday's 4-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

The Argentine made matters worse for himself as he grabbed the Everton crest on his shirt as he left the field, in what many have interpreted as a provocative gesture.

But when addressing the media on Friday, Martinez revealed he has taken no further action against the defender, who is suspended for the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United this weekend as a consequence of his dismissal.

Asked if Funes Mori, who issued an apology to Origi on Thursday, has been punished behind the scenes, the manager said: "No, I had a conversation with Ramiro.

"Because of the proximity of the semi-final, the preparation has been about the next game. It's an incident that we spoke about. It's water under the bridge now.

"As a team it was a really tough moment. That's not the sort of incident you want to allow the referee to make a decision on."

Tom Cleverley, Leighton Baines and Aaron Lennon, who have recently returned to fitness, emerged unscathed from the Liverpool defeat, but Martinez is still waiting to determine the availability of several key men ahead of facing United at Wembley.

Captain Phil Jagielka suffered a hamstring injury against Watford on April 9, while a groin problem and illness respectively forced Gareth Barry and John Stones to be substituted at Anfield in midweek.

"Seamus Coleman will be missing the semi-final," Martinez said of the Republic of Ireland full-back, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

"We're going to have a late fitness test today with Phil Jagielka [and] Gareth Barry. John Stones, we're quite positive about.

"Medically, I wouldn't expect Phil to be fit. Since he picked up the injury, it's only been a short amount of time.

"We're not going to say no. We're going to treat his feelings rather than the injury and we'll see how that shapes up going into the game."

As for the mood in the camp after a derby loss that has heaped further pressure on Martinez, the under-fire manager added: "We carry hurt. That's normal after what happened.

"The focus is [on] the opportunity of being in the semi-final of the FA Cup. It's only the third time in 20 years. Nobody at Everton is taking that>

Captain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea – collectionfifatips.com

The Blues will soon have to face up to life without their long-serving skipper, but they may already have the perfect replacement in the form of their hungry Spanish maestro

Captain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea - collectionfifatips.comCOMMENT

Perhaps the single biggest decision immediately facing Antonio Conte when he arrives at Chelsea this summer is who will be wearing the captain’s armband on the opening day of the season.

The Italian will have the final say on whether John Terry will remain at Stamford Bridge or not, but with the veteran defender still in the midst of a contract standoff with the club it is looking increasingly likely that Conte’s new era will need a new skipper, too.

That has huge implications – and opportunities – for senior players, none more so than Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic. The latter is the current vice-captain and most likely successor to Terry, but it is the Spaniard who could be the perfect man to kick-start Chelsea’s new dawn.

In a sit down with Goal, Fabregas spoke about his leadership qualities and influences, explaining: “I have been playing now for 13 years, I learned from the very best.”

Captain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea - collectionfifatips.com

His determined words will stir belief and enthusiasm in fans and players alike. He is a medal-adorned player that a deceptively young Chelsea squad can turn to for inspiration, a character that can inspire and educate the club’s clutch of UEFA Youth League-winning starlets, and someone who can guide the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the pitch and behind the scenes.

What is clear from speaking to Fabregas is how utterly determined he is to prove that this season is a pure freak for the Blues, an anomaly, and that their true level can see them secure the title once more.

And he could hardly be a more perfect totem for Chelsea to rally behind. He has learned from the best, taking over the armband from Thierry Henry back at Arsenal; He has played alongside the best, sweeping aside all comers in a Barca side featuring Lionel Messi, Andreas Iniesta and Xavi; And he even idolised the best, looking up to then Blaugrana skipper Pep Guardiola while he was still at La Masia.

Few Chelsea players have a deeper well of experience to draw upon, certainly not Ivanovic. He will go down as one of the club’s best defenders, but his body of work is too limited to his time in west London. He won just one major trophy away from Stamford Bridge – the Russian Cup with Locomotiv Moscow in 2007.

Captain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea - collectionfifatips.comCaptain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea - collectionfifatips.com READ MORE Captain, leader, playmaker: Why Conte should look to Fabregas when Terry leaves Chelsea - collectionfifatips.com | Fabregas: I forgot how to play football!

Fabregas, meanwhile, has won twelve titles elsewhere and will be chasing another at Euro 2016, which would make him one of the most decorated active footballers in the world and a constant across several different cycles of great Spanish sides. With such an impressive CV, it is clear that he will be looked up to – and looked to for inspiration – regardless of whether or not he wears the armband.

“I always try to learn from everyone that I play with,” he says. “I am happy with the players that I played with. My role at Chelsea will be the same [whether it is] last year, this year or next year. I just want to take the responsibilities [for leadership at Chelsea] anyway.”

For now it remains to be seen whether Conte will even need a new captain, though he will have to make up his mind quickly as Terry’s contract runs out before the Italian is scheduled to take over at Chelsea. If he does depart, it will only increase the leadership vacuum that has opened up at a club that once boasted the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Frank Lampard.

But Conte has been in this position before, needing to find a successor to Alessandro Del Piero at Juventus. Then it was Gianluigi Buffon, and now he might sense a similar aura in Fabregas. The Spaniard may have had a poor year, all the Chelsea players have, but as he enters a third season at Stamford Bridge he is the player best placed to emerge as a new captain, leader, legend. And, even if he is not handed the armband, his presence and role will play a huge part in just how successful this Chelsea rebuild will be.

collectionfifatips | Real Madrid confirm Ronaldo thigh strain injury

Tests have confirmed that the Portuguese star picked up an injury during his side’s 3-0 win over Villarreal, but Los Blancos are unsure how long he will be out for

Real Madrid have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a thigh strain injury, meaning he is now a doubt for their trip to Manchester City in the Champions League next week.

The Portugal star took himself off the pitch towards the end of the 3-0 win over Villarreal on Wednesday, clutching the back of his right leg.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane said he had no concerns that the injury could be a serious one, while Ronaldo himself took to Instagram to announce he was "all good" after the incident.

Madrid have now said that medical tests conducted this week have identified muscle damage, though they are unsure how long Ronaldo will be out of action for.

"After the medical examinations conducted today [Friday] on our player, Cristiano Ronaldo, a the Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Moraleja, he has been diagnosed with a muscle strain in his right thigh," a club statement read.

Ronaldo, who has not missed a minute of La Liga or Champions League football this season, is now likely to be rested for Saturday's clash against Rayo Vallecano, while he could also miss the first leg of the Champions League semi-final with Manchester City on Tuesday.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos is understood to have spoken to Madrid, but is not concerned that Ronaldo's place at Euro 2016 could be jeopardised.

"I took care to learn of Ronaldo's condition," he told SportTV. "The information I have is that the probability of it being something very serious is small, thankfully."

Ronaldo leads the race for the Pichichi top-scorer prize in La Liga with 31 goals – one ahead of Barcelona's Luis Suarez – and has scored 47 in all competitions this season.

Premier League clubs on alert as Lyon line up Lacazette replacement – collectionfifatips.com

Last season’s Ligue 1 top goalscorer is expected to move on at the end of the campaign as the club have already named Wissam Ben Yedder as the ideal man to replace him

Premier League clubs will be on alert in the pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette as Lyon have already identified Wissam Ben Yedder as their ideal replacement, Goal understands.

Lacazette was highly coveted last summer as he finished top of the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts in 2014-15 with an impressive tally of 27, but he opted to stay in France after signing a new contract in August.

With 17 goals in 30 league matches this term, the 24-year-old is expected to join a new club at the end of the campaign and could be on his way to the Premier League, having started to learn English, while Lyon are ready to let him go, having pinpointed Toulouse star Ben Yedder as his successor.

Ben Yedder, 25, wants to leave his side this summer as he hopes to play in the Champions League, which Lyon are on track to achieve as they sit third in the French top flight.

However, Sevilla, Villarreal and Roma are also interested in the striker whom Toulouse could sell for around €10 million (£7.8 million).

Ben Yedder has netted 15 goals in Ligue 1 in 31 matches, scoring 21 in 37 matches in all competitions for the side who sit second bottom in the table.
